Vishak Rohinkumar, a 15-year-old student from Bangalore, is on a mission to protect India’s most vulnerable digital citizens with his venture, ScamKnight. Developed during The Tomorrow School’s Fall 2025 cohort, ScamKnight is a comprehensive "digital safety companion" designed to help seniors navigate the complexities of the online world without fear.
The Problem: The Prevalence of Digital Scams Amongst Senior Citizens
India is often labeled the "scam capital" of the world, and seniors are the primary targets. Vishak identified a staggering 86% increase in cybercrimes against seniors between 2020 and 2022. Many in this demographic feel technically overwhelmed, with 45% of Indian seniors struggling to identify online fraud. As Vishak noted, many seniors find it easier to trust a scammer than to navigate the verification tools currently available.
"They grew up in a different generation, they're not as tech-literate, which makes them especially vulnerable."
The Solution: A Holistic Platform For Digital Literacy & AI-Enabled Scam Detection
Vishak’s innovation is a comprehensive platform that treats digital safety as a language that can be learned. ScamKnight functions as both a teacher and a translator through two key features:
Educational Modules: A "Duolingo-style" learning path where seniors take interactive courses to recognize common scam tactics like urgency, fake domains, and social engineering.
AI Scam Detector: A "Google Translate" for safety. Users can upload screenshots of suspicious messages, and an AI model analyzes the content to provide a "Scam Likelihood Score" and a plain-English explanation of the red flags.
"Since I was a small child, all I wanted to do was to make a change in the world."
During The Tomorrow School’s intensive workshops, Vishak validated his MVP with seniors in the Bangalore area, finding that 50% were willing to pay for such a tool to protect themselves online.
Vishak's enterprising vision is to expand ScamKnight into a B2B model, partnering with nursing homes and NGOs to provide access to the portal to thousands of senior citizens. By leveraging AI and design thinking, Vishak is on a journey to protect a generation of "tech-vulnerable" people with a practical and compassionate solution. His journey exemplifies the core mission of The Tomorrow School: empowering young innovators to solve urgent societal problems with scalable, tech-driven solutions.
